| Matamata Swifts have defeated Te Awamutu 10-0 in their latest pre-season friendly. The goals were spread evenly across the four 30 minutes periods of a game played on another sweltering summer afternoon. Andrew Cooper, Mike Beard and Simon Arther each grabbed a brace - their first goals for the club - while Tim Miller also scored twice. Jon Allen and Andrew Taylor rounded out the scoring.
More here... In other games, the Swifts 3rds were defeated 3-2 by a Cambridge team. Jamie Cox and Dwayne Signal scored for Matamata.
